Top-100 Photos: Migrant Mother

1.  I chose this photo because I have seen it many times before.  I've looked at this photo when I was learning about the Dust Bowl and the Great Depression and I wanted to learn more about it.

2.  When Dorothea Lange was driving by the "Pea-Pickers Camp" she knew she had to stop.  She took six pictures of this woman and her kids who were trying to sell tires to be able to buy food.  After the photo was seen, 20,000 pounds of food was sent to the encampment.

3.  There are some of Lange's other photos from the Great Depression.  Everyone in the photo is usually dirty and they almost all have children in them.  Lange's photos show the struggles people faced during the Great Depression.
